Wexford Town - A brief History
Striding into the 21st Century, Wexford town and it's hinterland is now a vibrant economic force, a thriving industrial, commercial and tourist centre.
Situated on National Primary Road Route, N25, and on Euroroutes E01 & E30, Wexford stands directly on the path of business and tourist traffic between Ireland and Europe. Rosslare Harbour, Ireland's gateway to Europe, is located only 20 kms from the town giving direct access by passenger and ro-ro ferry services to Fishguard and Pembroke in the U.K. and to Le Harve and Cherbourg in France.

Annapolis - Our Sister City
The links between Wexford and our sister city Annapolis, Maryland were cemented on the 23rd of June 2013 as Wexford Mayor Jim Allen and Annapolis Mayor Josh Cohen signed a new proclaimation. The new proclaimation seeks to develop and strengthen the historic, cultural, tourism and industrial connections between Wexford and Annapolis.
The Mayor of Annapolis, accompanied by his wife Lesley and a delegation representing the City Council, Tourism and Industrial sectors of the City, spent a busy four days immersing themselves in all things Wexfordian. Highlights of the trip included a historic walking tour of the town, visits to the National Heritage Park, Kents Engineering and the Opera House and participation in the O.N.E. remembrance service and Commodore John Barry Wreath laying ceremony.
